What is Mobile Chiropractic?
Mobile chiropractic is fairly literal: instead of going to a chiropractic office, the chiropractor comes to you.

I travel throughout the Sioux Falls area in the MyChiro van, which serves as a small mobile treatment space. Most appointments take place right inside the van. The treatment table is portable, though, so care can also be provided inside a home or workplace when needed.
The setting is different, but the basic clinical process isn't. I still take a history, examine the problem, determine whether chiropractic care is appropriate, and treat based on what I find.

For some people, that's simply a more convenient way to get care. At its core, it's a chiropractic house call.
Wondering what “mobile chiropractor near me” actually means? I wrote a little more about how mobile chiropractic differs from a traditional office and what a house-call visit looks like.— read the complete comparison here.

Who is Mobile Chiropractic For?
There isn't one type of patient who uses a mobile chiropractor.

Some people call because their back or neck suddenly hurts and driving across town doesn't sound particularly appealing. Others can't get an appointment with their usual chiropractor when they need one. Some have busy workdays, young kids at home, or simply prefer the convenience of having the chiropractor come to them.

I also see people visiting Sioux Falls who develop a problem while they're here, as well as people whose old back or neck problem has flared up again.

Mobile chiropractic won't make sense for everyone. But if chiropractic care is appropriate and getting to an office is inconvenient, a house call can be a pretty simple alternative.
What Happens During A Visit?
Every visit starts with figuring out what's going on.

If it's your first appointment, I'll ask about what hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse, and anything else that might help explain the problem. Then I'll examine the area and have you try a few movements to see what changes.
What we do next depends on what I find. That might include an adjustment, working on tight or sore muscles, stretching, or a few exercises you can do on your own. Not everyone needs the same thing.

I'll usually check things again afterward. From there, we'll decide what makes sense next. Sometimes that's another visit. Sometimes it's something to work on at home. And sometimes the right next step is seeing someone else.
New-patient visits usually take about 30–45 minutes. Follow-up visits are typically 15–20 minutes.
How Do I Treat?
There isn't one treatment I use for everyone.

Most visits involve some form of chiropractic adjustment. Depending on what you're dealing with and what you're comfortable with, I may use traditional hands-on adjustments, the Thompson drop table, or a small handheld adjusting tool called an Activator.

I may also work on tight or sore muscles, use stretching, or show you a few simple movements or exercises to try on your own.
What we do depends on what I find during the visit and how you respond.
